Defensive Shotgun One-Day Course 2016

The shotgun is one of America’s most popular home defense choices. It is both the simplest and most complex to use effectively. This is a defensive/tactical course that will enable shooters to understand and utilize the shotgun to its fullest multipurpose capability.

If you own a shotgun or you are considering one as a defense option, this course is for you. Our focus is on life-saving skills. This is a fun and completely practical course that will develop your confidence and effectiveness. Learn real world “best practices” in use by professionals today. Students include men & women of all ages from all walks of life from responsible citizens concerned with self-defense to military and Leo members.

Subjects: Mindset/mental conditioning, Safety, shot placement/patterning, recoil management, movement, reload methods, positions, slings, threat id / response, ammunition selection, change-over’s, clearing malfunctions and much more! We will address reality-based scenarios and problem solving.

You will get to use some of the latest shotguns & related gear

You will shoot paper and reactive steel targets.

You will become safer, faster and more effective!

Shotguns – Bring what you have. You don’t need a ”tactical” gun. EXAMPLES: semi-automatics & pumps … Benelli M2 & M4, Remington 1100 & 870, Mossberg 500 and etc. Iron sights & or low-power, red dot optics are preferred.

Required: gun, sling, 150rnds birdshot, 20rnds slug, 20rnds 00 Buck shot (Factory loads), two pockets/pouches or shell carriers, hearing protection, wrap around eye protection, food, water, folding chair and clothing suited for any weather. Recommended: baseball cap, sun block, bug repellant, first aid kit, hand sanitizer and cleaning kit. LEO/military may use duty/ field gear.

Optional Pistols – duty size or CCW/CPL pistols .38/9mm & above. Bring: 50 rnds, concealment garment, belt holster (strong side and proper fitting), two magazines/speed loaders and ammo carrier.

Hosted by experienced and certified instructors that bring a diverse background to the subject in a safe and friendly environment. You don’t have to leave the state to get professional training.
